What's required of GriefShare support group leaders?

Become a GriefShare leader—receive training, coaching, and proven tools to help grieving people find hope and healing through Christ-centered community.

Effective GriefShare leadership involves more than showing videos—it’s about facilitating healing conversations and stewarding a safe community space.

  • Lead Small-Group Discussions. Use provided questions to guide sharing, ensuring every voice is honored and confidentiality is upheld.

  • Pray & Provide Pastoral Care. Offer spiritual support, prayer, and follow-up to participants as needs emerge.

  • Promote the Group. Share announcements, distribute flyers, and leverage social media to maintain healthy attendance.

Training & Resources

  • Online LeaderZone Modules. Short video trainings cover hospitality, group dynamics, promotion strategies, and handling sensitive topics. Preview a training video HERE.

  • Leader’s Guide Walkthrough. Step-by-step instructions for each session ensure leaders never have to “reinvent the wheel.”

  • Coaching Support. Ministry coaches are available via email, phone, or video call to answer questions and model best practices.

Many churches designate a team of two to four facilitators to rotate responsibilities and foster mutual support. Volunteers report that the combination of structured curriculum and personal encouragement creates a sustainable and rewarding ministry experience.
